Dedicamos dos números de Conversaciones… a Roberto Pane (1897-1987), un personaje singularmente importante, pero que en algunos países se conoce poco, en particular fuera de Europa. Roberto Pane, originario de Taranto, pero quien vivió sobre todo en Nápoles, fue no sólo un humanista y arquitecto, sino además dibujante, fotógrafo y prolífico escritor.

Se analiza críticamente el valor del patrimonio, diversos tipos de intervenciones y la investigación aplicada a materiales y procesos de conservación y restauración: limpieza, control de sales, consolidación, reintegración de faltantes y el uso de réplicas; con el fin de aportar una visión amplia para la reflexión sobre temas normativos.

ICCROM, through its flagship programme First Aid and Resilience of Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis (FAR) is pleased to present the results of an innovative implementation research from five climate hot spots worldwide, developed under a 30-month capacity development initiative, Net Zero: Heritage for Climate Action. This study, field-tested in Brazil, Egypt, India, Sudan, and Uganda, shows how conserving heritage can lead to tailored and integrated solutions that address disaster risk reduction, climate action, and the promotion of peacebuilding.

This guide's publication follows a two-year capacity-building program in Mosul, Iraq, aimed at developing local expertise in heritage recovery. This initiative targeted 49 young graduates from local universities in engineering and architecture, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to become heritage recovery experts.

Heritage Place Lab (HPL), a new activity focused on strengthening networks across research and site management in the context of the implementation of the World Heritage Convention.

It provides a framework for supporting and harnessing the recovery of heritage places to come to terms with and overcome the trauma associated with destruction and loss.

This volume is a collection of papers from the 2016 ICCROM-CHA Forum on National Conservation Policy. It was the fourth in a series of five forums from 2013–2017 and resulted from an ongoing collaborative effort between ICCROM and the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) of the Republic of Korea. This volume provides a glimpse into some of the region’s diverse national policies governing heritage conservation, from Pakistan to New Zealand. As Adeni Masni (this volume) states, “The heritage of Malaysia is an embodiment of the history, culture and values representing the Malaysian people”, and the national policies which govern its identification, protection, use and conservation demonstrate the importance of heritage to a national psyche.

It offers a World Heritage-specific methodology of management effectiveness assessment that can be applied to cultural, natural and mixed sites.
